Pastor Andrew Burmeister

Greetings in the Name of Our Risen Lord and Savior!

I was born on January 22, 1962, in Winona, Minnesota. I was brought to faith in Baptism (by my grandfather, Rev. Herman Pankow) on February 10, 1962.

I was confirmed in the Christian faith at Goodview Trinity Lutheran Church in May 1976; attended St. Matthew’s Lutheran Elementary in Winona, Minnesota and Luther High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

My undergraduate studies were at the University of St. Mary’s University of Minnesota (grad. 1984) and graduate school was at the University of Southern California, attaining a Master of Computer Science in 1985.

I worked in software research and development and taught as a science professor in colleges and universities in Minnesota, including (two times at) our Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.

I have lived and worked abroad, including New Zealand in 1994 & 1995. I entered Bethany Lutheran Seminary in 2002 and finished the three years of coursework.

I served as vicar 2005-2006 and then ordained, both at Our Redeemer Lutheran of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, where I served Our Redeemer Australia 2006- 2013. Our Savior Lutheran church issued me a call to Lakeland, Florida USA where I served from 2013-2019

I accepted the Divine Call to serve here at St. Paul Lutheran Escondido, California. I was installed on December 9, 2019, and I look forward to serving the members at St. Paul and the Escondido area.
